A 26 de diciembre 2022 / Redacción.- La Gobernadora de Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, nombró al General Leopoldo Aguilar Durán como nuevo secretario de Seguridad Ciudadana de Baja California, en sustitución del General Gilberto Landeros Briseño, a quien agradeció su esfuerzo y los resultados obtenidos a lo largo de 2022 como titular de la dependencia encargada de trabajar por la paz y el bienestar de las familias bajacalifornianas.
El General Aguilar Durán cuenta con una amplia experiencia en el sector militar y amplios conocimientos en el sector policial, ya que ha colaborado en la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA) durante 34 años ininterrumpidos, desempeñando diversos cargos y obteniendo diversas condecoraciones entre las que destacan la Distinción de Desempeño, la Legión de Honor, el Mérito en la Campaña contra el Narcotráfico y una Distinción Especial por sus resultados en la Maestría en Especial por sus resultados en la Maestría en Seguridad y Defensa Nacional cursada en República Dominicana.
Asimismo, ha cursado tres maestrías distintas en materia de Seguridad y Defensa Nacional, así como una licenciatura en Administración Militar y Curso de Mando en la Escuela Superior de Guerra.
También cuenta con amplios cursos en el Heroico Colegio Militar desde paracaidismo, estudios superiores de guerra, administración pública y militar, operaciones psicológicas y asuntos civiles, este último impartido por el Ejército de los Estados Unidos.
La Gobernadora destacó que se trata de un militar con amplia experiencia y conocimientos en materia de Seguridad Ciudadana, así como múltiples habilidades para el diseño de estrategias necesarias para garantizar la paz en el Estado de Baja California.
Por su parte, puntualizó el General Aguilar Durán que impulsará la estrategia de Seguridad bajo la coordinación de la Gobernadora Marina del Pilar, se promoverán trabajos de inteligencia e información para fortalecer las acciones operativas, la coordinación con las corporaciones municipales y federales y se desarrollarán acciones de proximidad social.
